Jan-Olof Sperle

After a long career in the development and marketing organisation at SSAB, I worked as a development director and in the management during the last four years, where I was responsible for the development of products, business and strategies. Before my career at SSAB, I was employed at ABB in Västerås.
Between 1989 and 2005 I was an adjunct professor in lightweight construction at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the University of Uppsala. I have been engaged in boards of directors, such as the Swedish Institute for Metals Research, the Swedish Welding Commission, the Teknikdalen Foundation, the Foundation for the Industrial Development Centre in Dalarna, the Research School of the University of Dalarna, SSAB HardTech, Cogent Power and Bangalore AB. Furthermore, I am a member of the Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA.

In case of problems with fatigue in materials, constructions or production, consult a specialist who has been working with fatigue matters in his whole life!

I have many years’ experience as a development director with responsibility for the development of products, strategies and business, furthermore as a technical expert, a professor and a researcher.

Suistainable engineering is an important challenge for the future. Recently I worked with research concerning environmental assessment. Engineers need to be updated in this and I am prepared to share my knowledge about how to handle sustainibility in engineering work.

I have a lot more information about myself and my services on Sperle Consulting AB. However, I am also representing Toleap Consulting AB, especially regarding fatigue design and the coming software FATcomp.
